Why ants?
Ant Strategic - you might wonder, why ants? Aren’t they just pests that ruin a nice picnic or outdoor play date?
Reasons You Should Think Like An Ant
Have you ever seen an ant reach an obstacle and give up? Nope! They just find another way around.
What do ants do all summer long? They prepare for winter. They are ready for when things get tougher.
Everyone should try 'Ant Think' every once in awhile. It’s a simple, but powerful mindset. Here's why:
Reason 1:
If you think about ant society, they are highly organized, able to thrive in almost any ecosystem, and have an adaptability to modify their surroundings, tap resources, and defend themselves. Imagine what you could accomplish if you were open to change, adaptable to each situation, and ready to coach and mentor teammates to help us all thrive.
Reason 2:
Ant societies have been known to be able to solve complex problems and separate tasks so that each individual can specialize. If we each were to apply our strengths and learn from those around us to build up our weaker traits - imagine what we could do.
Reason 3:
Are ants really the ultimate problem solvers and constant ideators? Do they take a strategic mindset when approaching a task or mission? Do they evaluate which specialization is needed and when it’s time to change? Perhaps!
Reason 4:
Ants communicate with each other through pheromones, sound and touch. They must read each others body language, much the same as we as entrepreneurs must look for all the different ways our customers and prospects are giving us signs of interest, disinterest, excitement or distaste, from all their different signals -- digital, behavioral, and vocal.
Reason 5:
Ants have often been used in fables and children's stories to represent industriousness and cooperative effort. These are traits that are so very important to success and often become buzzwords instead of real action. Imagine what you could achieve if you never gave up and worked with a team that made you better every day.
Perhaps we should all strive to implement more 'Ant Think' in our lives.
